Xiaomi releases plenty of phones each and every year, but it’s the company’s flagships that usually get most of the attention.
That’s the case so far in 2024, with the Xiaomi 14 series arriving in Europe following an initial Chinese launch. Only two of the three phones have been released globally, with the excellent regular Xiaomi 14 joined by high-end 14 Ultra (and its compatible Photography Kit).
However, does that mean the 14 Pro will never make it to Europe? Here’s everything you need to know about all three phones.

When was the Xiaomi 14 released?
The Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro were officially unveiled in China on 26 October 2023. Then, on 22 February 2024, the 14 Ultra was revealed there.
Just three days later, on 25 February 2024, the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Ultra got their official global launch.
Both phones are on sale now in the UK, having been released on 19 March 2024.

- Buy the Xiaomi 14 Ultra – free Xiaomi Pad 6, Xiaomi Photography Kit, YouTube Premium for three months and 100GB of cloud storage for six months

However, there’s no sign of the 14 Pro, and it looks likely that this model won’t ever be available in Europe.
And as with all Xiaomi phones, don’t expect any of the 14 series devices to ever be sold in the US. Your best bet there will be to try and import one.

What specs and features does the Xiaomi 14 have?
The Xiaomi 14 and 14 Ultra have now launched in Europe, while the 14 Pro remains exclusive to China. That means we know pretty much everything about them.
Let’s start with what they have in common. All three phones are are equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Qualcomm’s latest and greatest chipset.
They also run Xiaomi’s new HyperOS skin (replacing MIUI) over Android 14, and feature the fastest RAM (LPDDR5X) and internal storage (UFS 4.0) standards.
But there are also quite a few differences between them.
Xiaomi 14
The Xiaomi 14 boasts a 6.36in OLED display, with a resolution of 2670×1200 pixels, and LTPO tech enabling a variable refresh rate ranging from 1-120Hz. It also offers a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, and the display is safeguarded by Gorilla Glass Victus. Notably, its bezels are just 1.71mm thick.
On the back, the Xiaomi 14 features three Leica Summilux cameras. The main sensor is a 50Mp sensor with an f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilization. A 50Mp ultrawide is at f/2.2, and provides a 122° field of view. It’s joined by a 50Mp telephoto lens, complete with 3.2x optical zoom.
Xiaomi
On the front, there’s a 32Mp selfie camera in the usual hole-punch in the centre of the top of the display.
The Xiaomi 14 is powered by a 4,610mAh battery, supported by a speedy 90W wired charging option and 50W wireless charging. Notably, it also comes with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
Xiaomi 14 Pro (currently exclusive to China)
The standout feature of the Xiaomi 14 Pro is its larger screen, which subtly curves at the edges. This screen is the same LTPO OLED panel but measures 6.73in and boasts a higher 1440×3200 resolution. However, the refresh rate remains at 1-120Hz, and the peak brightness stays at 3,000 nits.
Xiaomi
Regarding the camera setup, the Xiaomi 14 Pro closely mirrors its counterpart with a similar square camera island and three Leica Summilux lenses. But while the main lens is still 50Mp and with optical image stabilisation, its aperture is f/1.42.
The 50Mp, 3.2x telephoto sensor is identical to the regular 14, but the 50Mp ultrawide misses out on autofocus (AF) and the better macro images it enables.
Elsewhere, the 14 Pro is equipped with a 4,880mAh battery and supports 120W wired charging, with Xiaomi claiming a full charge in just 18 minutes. Similar to its smaller counterpart, it also offers 50W fast wireless charging. And the IP68 rating is still here.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra has a lot in common with the 14 Pro, but there are a few notable differences.
Most of these centre around the cameras, with a new 50Mp, f/2.5 (5x) telephoto lens and tweaked 50Mp, f/1.8 (3.2x) telephoto sensor. Rather than the variable aperture of the 14 and 14 Pro, the main 50Mp camera offers a fixed choice between f/1.6 and f/1.6. It’s not clear why Xiaomi has chosen to make this lens less versatile on its high-end phone.
The fourth rear camera, a 50Mp ultrawide, is now a f/1.8 lens with 115˚ field of view, and there’s also a separate depth sensor for improved portrait-style shots, among others. However, the 32Mp selfie camera appears to be unchanged.
Xiaomi
The Ultra is also the only Xiaomi 14 phone to offer a vegan leather back, just like the 13 Ultra. The glass used for the display is also slightly tougher than the 14 and 14 Pro.
A 5300mAh battery is significantly larger than the 14 Pro’s 4880mAh cell, though 90W wired charging is actually slower. To compensate, there’s 80W Qi wireless charging.
As our Xiaomi 14 review shows, the regular model. Look out for a full review of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra soon.
