The Traitors season 2 was one of the biggest shows of this year, keeping audiences hooked on the telly throughout the cold and dreary month of January 2024. Throughout the series, 22 contestants were slowly whittled down to a final winner.
After months of waiting for news about season 3, we finally have a major update for you. Keep on reading to watch the first footage for the next instalment.

When will The Traitors season 3 be released?
Grab your cloaks, because the BBC has officially confirmed that The Traitors season 3 will kick off on New Year’s Day. The first three episodes will be available to watch on BBC One and iPlayer.
The first two episodes will be ready to stream from 8pm GMT, while episode three will land at 9pm GMT. Episodes after that will land every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, just like last year.
In November 2023 the head of entertainment at the BBC, Kalpna Patel-Knight, gave the following statement:
The massive unscripted hit The Traitors will be back for a third series. Expect to see more psychological gameplay, exciting challenges and, of course, Claudia at the helm.
The waiting time for the new season seems long, but never fear. Season 2 of The Traitors Australia is now available to stream on BBC iPlayer, as is The Traitors New Zealand.
Claudia Winkelman’s stylist for the show, Sinead McKeefry, discussed in a BBC article how she’s already started her mood board for the outfits next year. We can’t wait to see them.
What will season 3 of The Traitors UK be about?
We expect that the show’s core format will remain unchanged. 22 contestants will most likely gather at Ardross Castle in Scotland to compete for a big cash prize of £120,000. They’ll have to complete tasks, solve puzzles and overcome many challenges to win it.
However, several “traitors” will be standing in their way. They will be hidden within the group, and their task will be to secretly eliminate the “faithfuls” from the programme. It will be up to the contestants to discover who the villains are and eliminate them from the show.
Each week, the Traitors will murder a Faithful, so the group will be slowly cut down over time.
The show’s creators always like to add in surprises and twists, so we expect more of those in the next instalment.

Who won The Traitors season 2?

The final episode came down to five contestants: Jaz, Evie, Mollie, Andrew and Harry. In the roundtable, faithful Evie was banished, taking two traitors into the final game.
Realising that the two faithfuls needed to catch a traitor to end the game, Harry and Andrew turned on each other. However, the majority went for Andrew, and he was too banished.
In the final endgame, Mollie believed there were no traitors left and was happy to finish. However, Jaz laid out his reasons that Harry was a traitor. Ultimately, their fates were left in Mollie’s hands as she chose who to banish.
After an agonising wait (where she wrote down a name and rubbed it out), she chose to banish Jaz – the most perceptive faithful in the competition. Finally, Mollie and Harry had to reveal their roles, leading to the ultimate betrayal as Harry took £95,000 for himself.

Will there be a season 4 of The Traitors?
Yes! At the Edinburgh TV Festival 2024, BBC announced that the reality TV hit will get a season 4. If you want to take part in the game, you can fill out the form, which is currently available on the BBC website. Applications will close on 9 February 2025.
Filming for the season 4 episodes will take place at some point in 2025, so the fourth instalment will most likely debut in 2026.
