OnePlus is outdoing itself this year.
Just a few months after the launch of its latest flagships, the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R, we’ve already received a mid-range model worthy of standing alongside it.
And the new OnePlus Nord 4 could be one of the best mid-range phones you can buy, with software support that’s only found on a handful of more expensive phones.
Alongside four major OS upgrades, OnePlus says the Nord 4 will get a full six years of security updates. That means the phone will be safe to use until 2030.
Only Samsung and Google offer more, with seven years of each on flagships. And the £499/$499 Pixel 8a is the only similarly-priced phone with such a commitment.

This extensive support aligns it with the best flagship phones, meaning it represents exceptional value for money. However, the OnePlus Nord 4 is not just about longevity; it’s also packed with high-end features.
It boasts an all-metal unibody design, with a single piece of aluminium stretching across the back and sides of the phone. The only interruption to this design is a plastic finish surrounding the rear cameras.
Inside, it houses the powerful Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chip, available with 12- or 16GB of RAM and 256- or 512GB of storage.
In terms of display, the Nord 4 features a 6.74-inch AMOLED screen with adaptive 144Hz refresh. It’s also weather-resistant, thanks to an IP65 water and dust rating and AquaTouch technology, ensuring usability in almost all conditions.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the 50Mp main camera with advanced RAW algorithms and OIS, plus a 8Mp ultrawide lens and 16Mp front camera.

Priced significantly lower than many flagship models and competitively to other mid-range rivals, the OnePlus Nord 4 starts at £429/€499.
On paper, that’s excellent value for money, but read our full OnePlus Nord 4 review to see how it holds up in long-term usage.
You can buy it directly from OnePlus right now in the UK and Europe, but the phone isn’t coming to the US.
