Whether your Fire 8 lives in your handbag for quick entertainment on the slow commute, or on the kitchen counter for general family use, or in the slippery, icing-glazed clutches of your five-year-old (with the device’s Fire for Kids parental control app active, of course), choosing the right case really depends on how you use your device. Keep in mind that the 2015, 2016 and 2017 versions of the Fire HD 8 tablets do vary in thickness. This year Amazon will release an update to the Fire HD 8 and that size will be different to the 2018 version as well, so be sure the case you choose fits the dimensions of your device.

If you want a hardy, child-friendly case for your Fire HD 8, check out Amazon’s own rugged case that provides protection for drops, skids and bumps.
The curved sides make it easy to hold as well. It fits the 2017 and 2018 models.

If you’re after affordable, decorative cases Fintie is a great option. The brand offers a range of colours and designs, and best of all its cases fit both the 2017 and the 2016 versions of the Fire 8.
Some of the stand out features of the Fintie case is that it auto-wakes your Fire 8 device on opening, and puts it to sleep on closing. You can fold the front flap into two viewing angles as well: an upright position for browsing (and binge-watching), and a low angle tilt for typing.

Unlike the other cases featured in this article, Amazon’s cover is weaved with a polyester fabric and keeps your device’s screen clean with a microfiber interior. The case also puts the tablet to sleep on closing, and remains closed with a magnetic fastener.
