If you’ve been wanting access to shows like House of the Dragon, The Penguin and Sweetpea but haven’t had the funds to fork out for a full Sky package, then you’re in luck.
The entertainment giant has just launched a brand-new Essential TV package for just £15 per month when you sign up for 24 months. With that, you get Sky Atlantic, Netflix Standard with Ads, Discovery+ and free-to-air channels such as BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky News and Sky Arts.
Regarding the launch, Managing Director of Sky TV Ben Case said: “Our new TV pack makes it easier than ever to get the biggest and best shows from Sky, Netflix and Discovery+ all in one place, just in time for the Christmas TV season.”
The addition of Netflix means you’ll also have access to latest season of global hit Squid Game, which drops its second season on Boxing Day. Discovery+ is also the home of many documentaries and reality series, including Gold Rush.
This package is available both on Sky Stream, a device that plugs into the back of your telly, and Sky Glass, Sky’s own purpose-built TV. Of course, you’ll have to pay for the hardware for the latter on top of your bill.
Sky Stream also offers a more flexible monthly-rolling option if you’re not prepared to commit to something long-term, although this does up the price of the Essential TV package to £18 per month – but that’s still just 1p more per month than paying for Netflix Premium by itself.
Of course, the Sky Ultimate TV package is still available for £22 per month at the time of writing (discounted from £28 per month, according to the website), which adds channels such as Sky Max, Sky Comedy, Sky Documentaries, Sky Crime, Sky Showcase and Sky Witness.
As has always been the case with Sky, if you want extra features such as 4K, Dolby Atmos support, ad-free viewing or access to Sky Sports, you’ll add them to your package at checkout. You can read more in our Sky buying guide.
