Shark’s Detect Pro vacuum is a nifty, feature-packed cordless that you can buy with its own auto-empty station – which means no more emptying the onboard bin. What it does best is automatically change its settings in response to its surroundings, which makes vacuuming a breeze.
It had a launch price of £349.99 for the vacuum cleaner alone, or £399.99 for the stick cleaner and auto-empty stand together. But now you can buy both together from Shark for Black Friday for just £249.99. This makes it an outright bargain buy – although its features and performance are far from budget.
At the time of writing, the vacuum cleaner alone costs the same from Amazon.

We gave it a glowing, four-star review, and here are the features we liked best about it.
- It’s a light and manoeuvrable vacuum, weighing just 2.76kg.
- Switch it into Auto mode and the vacuum will adapt itself to your home. It’ll turn on its headlights when you vacuum a dark corner, turn up the brush bar power when it detects a carpet, turn up its suction when it spots more dust or when it’s cleaning against a wall. It makes vacuuming a doddle.
- It has an easy-empty bin that you won’t need to go poking around in to remove dust and hair.
- Its anti-hair wrap roller is effective against tangles of long hair and pet fur.
