Black Friday season has officially started. Amazon kicked off its early Black Friday sale yesterday, along with Samsung which launched its Samsung Week Sale. The event, which ends 1 November, includes discounts on its premium Galaxy phones, Galaxy Book laptops, audio, tablets, and home appliances.
The hero deal of Samsung’s sale is 15% off the Galaxy Buds Live when bought with a smartphone, tablet, or smartwatch – but we’re more interested in the SAMSUNGWEEK promo code that slashes 15% off the new Galaxy Note20 range (and 25% off the special Galaxy S20+ BTS Edition in purple, designed in collaboration with the South Korean pop band BTS).
This 15% discount on the Note 20 range drops prices lower than Amazon’s on certain models:
- £127.35 off Note 20 4G (256GB)- was £849, now £721.65 – Currently cheaper than Amazon’s price where it’s £848.59
- £142.35 off the Note 20 5G (256GB) – was £949, now £806.65 – Amazon’s price is lower at £749.99
- £176.85 off Note 20 Ultra 5G (256GB) – was £1179, now £1002.15 – Amazon’s price is lower at £999.99
- £191.85 off Note 20 Ultra 5G (512GB) – was £1279, now £1087.15 – Currently cheaper than Amazon, where it’s full price
In fact, if you’re after the entry-level 4G Note 20 or the top-tier Note 20 Ultra 5G (512GB), you can’t get it cheaper elsewhere either (we’ve looked). Though we’re separately looking at the best Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra deals if you want to check out top offers on contract.
The Note 20 Ultra is a stunning top-tier phone, with an excellent display, camera set-up and user experience. In his review, our Consumer Tech Editor Alex Walker-Todd said it “boasts more features than practically any other handset on the market”. Its biggest drawback is its pricing, especially now that so many flagship phones compete at more affordable prices.
However, with nearly £200 off from Samsung, the Note 20 Ultra becomes even easier to recommend.
