Samsung’s Galaxy S24 saw the debut of Galaxy AI, the company’s suite of artificial intelligence features.
Initially they were exclusive to the S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra, but that’s changing all the time. Galaxy devices from last year have already received the One UI 6.1 update (based on Android 14), which includes Galaxy AI.
However, Samsung has since confirmed that the update is coming to even more Galaxy devices, including flagships, foldables and tablets from 2022.
The One UI 6.1 will be available on them from early May. However, a gradual rollout means it might take a while to show up on your device.
Here are all the smartphones and tablets confirmed to be compatible with One UI 6.1, and with it, Galaxy AI:

Here are all of the AI features that you can look forward to:
- Generative Edit – automatically fills in parts of a photo’s background
- Circle to Search – circle anything on your screen to search for it on Google (text or images)
- Live Translate – real-time, two-way voice and text translation during phone calls in the native app
- Transcript Assist – converts voice recordings into written transcriptions, which can then be summarised or translated
- Chat Assist – adjust the tone of your message or email to match the conversation. Also, can translate any on-screen text into one of 13 languages
- Note Assist – create summaries, custom templates and individual cover art for notes in Samsung Notes.
- Browsing Assist – create summaries of online articles
- Interpreter – instant, split-screen translation between two languages, allowing conversations between participants who speak different languages
- Instant Slow-mo – generates additional frames in an existing video to create a slow-motion version
All of these features rely on the AI processing capabilities of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which explains why they’re not available on earlier Samsung phones that are still being updated by the company.
