Buying a new phone and laptop often means paying in excess of £1,000, but it’s possible to get both for a fraction of that this Black Friday.
Mobiles.co.uk is offering Samsung’s latest Galaxy A13 phone on contract at Vodafone, with prices starting at £19 per month for 24 months with £140 upfront. That will get you 32GB of data, but it’s possible to go unlimited for £34 per month.
None of these plans are particularly remarkable, but what makes it such a good deal is that the Galaxy Book Go is included in the price. Samsung’s thin and light laptop usually costs £369, so it’s a significant saving.
Interestingly, Vodafone isn’t offering the same bundle if you buy the Galaxy A13 direct from its website. Prices there start at a more affordable £14 per month with £9 upfront, but you’ll have to commit to a 36-month contract.
For most people, the Galaxy A13 is a decent budget phone that will handle the basics. Highlights include a solid 50Mp main camera, large 5,000mAh battery and a headphone jack, something you won’t see on many phones these days. Samsung’s One UI software over Android is simple, clean and easy to use.
Then there’s the Galaxy Book Go, which combines an attractive design with lots of ports and great battery life. You also get 4G connectivity, thanks to the Qualcomm processor.
So, what’s the catch? Unfortunately, both devices suffer from performance issues. Many people will still be able to use the Galaxy A13 as their main phone, but the Galaxy Book Go is more of a struggle when it comes to laptops.
Even so, it’s worth taking advantage of this bundle if you’re considering a Samsung budget phone. The Galaxy Book Go might not be good enough to use as your main laptop, but it can be a useful backup.
However, it’s not clear how long this offer will be available for. It’s been out of stock a few times over the last few weeks, so we’d encourage you to get it while you still can.
In the US, the Galaxy A13 is available on contract via T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T. But none are bundling the phone with any laptops or other gadgets.
