Oppo has released several foldables, but it’s also doing exciting things with regular handsets. This is particularly apparent in its flagship Find X series, which combine cutting-edge design with premium specs.
That’s very true of its latest and greatest Find X7 series, which consists of two phones: the Find X7 and X7 Pro. Both are now official in China, but will they ever launch globally?
Here’s everything you need to know about the Oppo Find X7, including release date, potential pricing and all the key specs. You can also read our full Oppo Find X7 Ultra review based on the China model.
When will the Oppo Find X7 be released?
Oppo unveiled the Find X7 and X7 Ultra in China on 8 January 2024. Both phones go on sale there on 12 January.
However, it’s unclear if the phones will launch elsewhere. Neither the Find X6 or X6 Pro made it to Europe, though both the Find X5 and X5 Pro did.
It’s difficult to predict what Oppo will do on the Find X7 series. But it looks like the Ultra model is replacing the Pro everywhere, with Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station suggesting the Pro variant has been discontinued.
As for a potential global release date of the Find X7 and X7 Ultra, the arrival of previous generations serves as a rough guide:
- Oppo Find X5 – February 2022 (available worldwide)
- Oppo Find X6 – March 2023 (available only in China)

How much will the Oppo Find X7 cost?
In China, the Find X7 and Find X7 Ultra start at the following:
- Oppo Find X7 – ¥3,399 (approx. £375/€435)
- Oppo Find X7 Ultra – ¥5,999 (approx. £660/€770)
Those UK and European prices are simply direct conversions of the Chinese figures. A more useful guide is how much the previous generations cost:
- Oppo Find X5 – £749/€999
- Oppo Find X5 Pro – £1,049/€1,299
- Oppo Find X6 – From ¥4,499 (around £520/$650)
- Oppo Find X6 Pro – From ¥5,999 (around £690/$860)
But as you can see, the Find X7 is actually cheaper than the Find X6 in China. And despite swapping ‘Pro’ for ‘Ultra’ branding, the new high-end model isn’t more expensive.

Oppo Find X7 Pro
With only the Find X7 and X7 Ultra official in China, it’s looking less likely that we’ll ever see the Find X7 Pro. Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station believes the Pro variant has been discontinued.
But there are still some rumours out there regarding the phone’s specs if it ever was to launch. Digital Chat Station previously that the phone might feature an “ultra-narrow” curved screen and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
In July, the same leaker suggested that an upcoming Find X7 Pro might come with a periscope camera, curved screen with 2K resolution and 50W wireless charging. But none of these will be upgrades, as they’re already present on the Find X6 Pro.
In August, leaker Mess With Assen made several claims regarding the display and camera. These claims include a Samsung E6 2K LTPO screen with 2,500 nits of peak brightness, a 32Mp IMX709 selfie camera, a 50Mp IMX989 main camera, and both ultrawide and periscope cameras with an IMX890 sensor. These specifications are consistent with the Find X6 Pro, but the leaker mentioned potential changes to the lens and aperture.
In September, Digital Chat Station provided claimed that the Find X7 Pro would retain a 50Mp, 3x periscope camera with a 1/1.5-inch sensor size.
In October, Digital Chat Station shared a schematic image that appears to be of an Oppo Find X7 Pro. The image displays both the front and back of the phone, revealing a quad rear camera system that includes a periscope lens.
The camera setup is housed in a circular design, with three vertically aligned lenses and the fourth camera positioned to the left. Additionally, there’s a centrally located punch-hole cut-out on the front, a power button on the right, and volume buttons on the left.
While the Find X7 Pro sounds like a great phone, there’s a strong chance it’ll never be released.
