Quibi is the on-the-go mobile streaming service, but has now added support for both Chromecast and Airplay so you can watch on your TV. Here’s how to do it.
The ‘bite-size’ rival to the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime Video may have registered 1.7 million downloads in its first week but limiting shows to mobile devices didn’t get the best reaction – especially under coronavirus lockdown conditions.
You still can’t take screenshots or record anything to share on social media but you can at least now watch content on your TV making it a lot easier to watch with other people.
AirPlay support came first and Quibi has now added Chomecast for Android users with Tom Conrad, product, design and engineering at Quibi admitting “Sure we designed Quibi for on-the-go, but these days visiting the family room is like a day trip.”
To watch Quibi on your TV you’ll need the app downloaded on your phone or tablet and a compatible device to stream to. That means something like an Apple TV or Google Chromecast, although many smart TVs have Chromecast built-in.
How to watch Quibi on TV
- Make sure your devices are on the same Wi-Fi network
