OnePlus launched the new OnePlus 8T phone last October just a day after Apple unveiled the iPhone 12 – and six months later launched the OnePlus 9 range. That’s great news if you’re after the 8T as prices are steeply declining.
While the 8T doesn’t have a larger 8T Pro sibling, it does boast a flat 6.55in, 120Hz display, and ditches the curved glass of the standard 8. There’s also a sizeable 4,500mAh battery and 65W Warp Charge, up from the OnePlus 8’s 30W.
You can expect Oxygen OS 11 on Android 11, all powered by a top-tier Snapdragon 865 chip. As for cameras, the 8T returns with the familiar 48Mp main camera on the back, along with a 16Mp ultra-wide, 5Mp macro and 2Mp mono. See our full review of the OnePlus 8T.

How much does the OnePlus 8T cost?
While there isn’t a Pro model of the 8T, the phone is available from OnePlus itself in two configurations and price-points:
- OnePlus 8T 8GB/128GB – £549 – now £449 – unavailable in the US
- OnePlus 8T 12GB/256GB – £649/US$749/CAD$1,099 – now £549 in the UK and US$549/CAD$729 until 15 August (in the Back to School Sale)
The phones launched at £50/$50 less than the equivalent OnePlus 8 models. In our review of the OnePlus 8T we called it an “incredibly competitive budget flagship”.
Best OnePlus 8T SIM-free deals – Free Google Stadia Premiere Edition
Some of the best OnePlus 8T deals in the UK are coming directly from OnePlus where there’s currently £100 off both the 8GB RAM/128GB storage and 12GB RAM/256GB storage options. This reduces prices to £449 and £549, respectively. OnePlus is also bundling the Google Stadia Premier Edition for free.
In the US, customers can save US$200 on the 8T (now $549) as a part of Labor Day sales. The offer ends 19 September. On top of the discount, the first 100 customers also get a free case.
Customers in Canada can save a whopping CAD$370 (now $729) until 19 September as well. Like the US offer, the first 100 customers also get a free protective case
Where to buy the OnePlus 8T (apart from OnePlus)
UK – John Lewis has £100 off the 8T with 12GB RAM/256GB, price-matching OnePlus. Amazon has £30 off the 8GB RAM/128GB storage option. These are the only retailers that sell the 8T SIM-free in the UK.
US – Walmart’s price is $579.91, a $177 discount, while BestBuy’s price is even lower at $499 (a $250 discount) if you activate today.
Canada – Newegg‘s price on the 8T (12GB/256GB) is $699, which is $30 cheaper than buying directly from OnePlus.
Best OnePlus 8T deals on contract
In the UK, OnePlus phones are usually stocked exclusively by Three, but it doesn’t look like it’s decided to pick up the 8T.
