The OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro are now on sale in the UK and US, along with the OnePlus 8T, which launched launch 14 October. That means the OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro are slowly being phased out of the market.
While the 7T range is still available from certain retailers and from the network Three, you’re better off buying the OnePlus 8 – or the OnePlus Nord if you’re on a tighter budget. In fact, right now is the best time to do so.
With Christmas and Boxing Day arriving in three weeks, you can be sure to see discounts on the newer models. See our round-ups of the best Christmas deals on the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus Nord.
Why you should buy the OnePlus 8 or Nord instead
First off, the OnePlus 8 is now cheaper following the 8T launch. The 8 range starts at £599 but is priced £50 lower directly from OnePlus (though stock is currently unavailable). This places the OnePlus 8 at the launch price of the 7T but with a more powerful Snapdragon 865 processor instead of the 7T’s 855+.
Second, now that it’s Christmas season, all retailers will be participating in end-of-year sales. Over Black Friday Amazon had £150 off the 8 Pro on both 128GB and 256GB storage models, dropping the price to £649 and £749, respectively.
Amazon also had £141 off the OnePlus 8 (12GB RAM/256GB storage), dropping the price to just £557.81.
As more Christmas sales kick off, followed by Black Friday sales, we’d advise bagging a discount on a newer model instead of spending more than you should for the older 7T.

How much is the OnePlus 7T & 7T Pro worth?
With the launch of the OnePlus 8, the 7T’s price has dropped by £80/ US$150 directly from OnePlus though you can’t actually buy the device in the UK. OnePlus is no longer listing the OnePlus 7T Pro on its site either.
In the US, standard 7T availability is restricted to the T-Mobile version. While the 7T Pro isn’t available in the US, you can get the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren model with $200 off, but also restricted to T-Mobile.
While we recommend you opt for the OnePlus 8 or Nord, if you’re absolutely convinced you want to stick to the 7T, ensure you’re not paying more than OnePlus’s current list prices:
- OnePlus 7T (8GB RAM, 128GB storage) – now £469/US$499, down from £549/US$599.
- OnePlus 7T Pro (12GB RAM, 256GB storage) – last listed for £569, down from £699, though unavailable from OnePlus UK and US
- 7T Pro McLaren Edition (12GB RAM, 256GB storage) – last listed for £799 in the UK, reduced to $699 in the US from $899
